WR : Proposal

Salaam !
I hope every reader of this post is doing well !
I haven't posted in few days , I was in an incredible other experience with my association ! ( but that's another post ! :D )

Today I'll be talking about wedding proposals !
Either they are done by phone , by a mutual friend ( a friend talks to you about how the man wants you for marriage) , directly , or by parents contacting parents , the marriage proposal is one unique events that marks a start to a new life phase !

We girls tend to imagine how our proposals would look like , would it be over a romantic candles dinner , by gathering friends and family so he can ask in front of everyone , would he take you to vegas and ask you at midnight , would it be while walking on the beach ?

Totally normal we make incredible scenes in our minds , we've been watching and hearing about fairy tales since a very young age , maybe too young age .
I believe this take us far away and we forget the real purpose of a proposal n but most of all the true message it is suppose to send .
Searching via the net , I found this very interesting video ! I'll let you watch it , and you'll eventually come to the same conclusion

How cuutteeee ! isn't it ? isn't the guy just wonderful !! that's how every girl should get proposed to !

Soryy to disappoint you , but to me it isn't really the case . Concerning the video , the whole porposal was awesome ! she was happy , overwhelmed and couldnt find her words ! I'm happy for them both and hope they'll get a life full of love and happiness .
But accordinng to me , what is special about this proposal is how he expressed his love , and how she felt .
So it doesnt automatically means that , if the proposal isn't like this , the whole proposal wont be awesome .
what matters is the message and how it is expressed . If your man thinks that you'd love this way , and if he himself like big extravanga things , believe me you'll get a similar maybe better proposal .
Though other people - like Me :D - like things simply and a bit more private . If I had to think how I'd want him to propose to me , I'd say , it should be a nice private dinner where we'll be both relaxed and at ease :)

So no matter how your proposal is , remember what matters is YOU . your man and you , your feelings and what you have toward each other :)
If your guy appears to be religious and goes straight to contacting your parents , yet asking his parents to contact yours , you can make him propose directly to you after you and your family accept :D

So till next time , take of yourselves !
Bunch of love from a little women with pretty thoughts ! :D <3 !

The Hijabi Tag

Salaam !
I hope this post find you in a good health inshAllah :)
So I read this tag on this particular blog I always read , I found it really interesting so thought of giving my answers :)

1. How old were you when you started wearing the hijab?
I started wearing hijab in my first year of high school ( exactly the 1st day of Ramadan) , I was 15 by then and I had made the decision of wearing it 3 years before . Alahmadulilah best decision ever .

2. What or who influenced you to become a hijabi ?
Since my mum and aunts wear it , they played in important role of insipiring me , I also read the Quran some articles , beside some hijabi friends that I had . My hijabi friends seems really convinced and sure about their choice to wear hijab , they also were closed for Allah ( SWT ) . I also began feeling the presence of Allah , and all what he'd subhanahu do for me , so as muslims obeying him is the least we can do .

3. How has hijab changed your life?
Alhamdulilah it changed it toward the best . I've never thought that being a hijabi would make open-minded , really social and most of all a god muslimah . I can tell you that since I started wearing it , I feel more peaceful , satisfied and happy about my life . I spend amazing times with my friends and hijabi sisters , I attend more conferences , I advice people , all in all I'm just in the way nof becoming a good muslim .

4. What does hijab mean to you?
It means before anything , covering your mind and heart . It's becoming an honest person toward yourself and Allah (SWT) , by practicing islam correctly , looking and searching about islamic differences too . It's a symbol of your honest islam :)

5. How do you deal with the rude comments/stares you get due to being a hijabi?
Because I live in a muslim country , alhamdulilah I don't get any really rude comments / stares . But if sometimes they occur , I just try to answer quietly that it's my choice of becoming religious and that my religion respects other religions , so I and every muslim should get the same respect back .

6. What is your favourite thing about wearing the hijab?
It makes you feel like wearign a crown , but of course when acting like a queen . Beside all of the good things and the blessing they come with it . Like when some people leave you alone and respect you because you're a hijabi . Many boys I know , despite not being religious , affirmed that for them a hijabi is someone that Must get a high level of respect .

7. What is your hijab must have accessory?
That would be hijab pins and secure pins . Because without them your hijab won't stay at it place ! I always put brooches sometimes :)

8. What advice could you give a newbie hijabi?
Trust in yoursefl and in Allah (swt) . Read the Quran , attend conferences , lectures and islamik camps and seminars , just get to know more about your islam , it will strenghten you . Also get social with another hijabi sisters , they will definitely help you and guide you . And don't worry because Alalh (swt) is there for you and will help you .

9. What is one hijab trend you never understood?
The hijab style where they attach the collar of a ling sleeves pull with the headscarf . I think it's uncomfortable and doesnt give you full coverage .

10. What questions do you get asked the most due to wearing the hijab?
As I mentioned before , I'm not asked ver much about wearing hijab , since I belong to a muslim society , and even the non-practicant muslims know that hijab is something that esists in islam and that it's compulsory and mentioned in the Quran .
Though sometimes the most common questions I get asked are :
" Why do wear hijab ? all what matters is the heart "
" You have such a pretty hair why coverign it ? "
" Does all your family / mom wear hijab ? "
" Does it make you feel hot ? Can you breath normally ? "

But the ones I didn't like are :
One friend used to know before I became a hijabi , and when she saw me with hijab she said : " why that scarf over or head ? you do not need it "
And recently a girl told me :" If you didnt wear hijab , you could have wore a pretty short dress like me "

May Allah give them guidence .

Well , I hope you find my answers interesting and maybe useful ! Alhamdulilah I never regretted wearing hijab , and seeing all the blessings that come with it is a true gift . If someone attack me in my beliefs ( and hijab is one of them ) , I deffend it with all arguments I have , because I know it's a right choice and that Allah (swt) is there for me . One more thing , I never thought I'll get more coniced about hijab after wearing . But with time , many things makes me more sure about it :)

So Please do the Tag too ! All fo you reading this post do it I'd love to read it ;)
Though I'd like to tag some sisters I know to insist them doing it !

WR : Rings

Salaam ,
So this is my 1st post of the year ! Hope you're all doign well !
Since this post is included in WR posts, it's going to be about rings which is itself WR ! I had this post in mind since sometime and actually ever since my cousin( ( the one getting married - check the previous WR posts ) got a ring !!!!
Alhamdulilah , their planing is going much more better now , and her fiance finally got her an engagement ring , in white silver glowing gold ! I didnt have a close look at her ring , but it's nice and a bit big - I suppose she likes them that way .
Personally I prefer small traditional engagement rings . The ones with just a diamond ( not real diamond , you know what I mean ) , or other few tiny ones beside . That actually made me wonder about this universal tradition . Why is it that a ring -specifically - is the engagement and wedding symbol ? why isn't is a necklace or a bracelet for example ? To be honest , I don't really know , and haven't also looked about this matter . But I like to think that maybe because a ring , though small compared to other jewellery and ornements , is attractive and has it's own charm . And since it is worn in the 4th finger of the left hand ( in other societies in the right hand ) it is well noticed , of course because we use our hands alot during our daily life .
Speaking of the emplacement of the ring , the most known is in the left hand ( I guess almost everybody heard about why exactly in the fourth finger ) , but in other countries like in germany , the engagement ring is worn in the left hand , and after the marriage ceremony takes place it's transfered to the right hand . I also heard recently that in Arab countries ( that's indeed surprising since I belong to one lol ) while engaged the ring is worn on the right hand , then in the left one after marriage .

Till next time , let me know what type of rings YOU like and about your traditions concerning rings ! And if You are married or engaged , what does your ring look like ? Did you pick yourself or did your man pick it ?

Here are some nice rings I found and liked :)

This 2011 year was actually quite eventfull and with important changes !

Muslim Tag

Salaam all !
I saw this tag in scarf girl's Blog  and I found it really nice so I decided to do it !

1/ Are you a convert or born Muslim and how about your parents ?
I was born Muslim ans so are my parents .

2/ What's your ethnicity and if it was related at all too how you were born then how ?
I'm Arab exaclty Moroccan. Purely Moroccan since both my parents are, and we've been living here forever .

3/ Where are you from and have you been to the Middle East ? if yes why and how did you like it ?
As I said I'm arab and live in the Middle east ! :D Though I've never visited any other middle eastern country but hope to in the future insh'Allah . I love the middle east and all it's beautiful and rich culture , I can also say I know much about almost all the other Arab countries beside I can speak fluently other dialects of Arabic .

4/ What's your favourite Arab / Middle Eastern dish ?
I don't have a specific favourite dish , but I'd say the lebanon dishes are the ones I like over all the others .

5/ What's the most interesting Islam / Arabic related saying you use day to day ?
Since I speak Arabic ( it's my mother tongue :p ) I use many sayings but Insh'Allah or Mash'Allah would be the ones I use the most .

6/ What's the most attractive / unattractive trait and or physical attribute you find toward a Muslim / Arab man ?
Well I would say the fact that he is Arab and Muslim :D I like their physical aspect ; brown eyes , brownish skin colors and black hair ! The unattractive trait is sometimes their non-funny way to make jokes ! ( But not all Arab men are un-funny )

7/ What do you love most about Islam and what do you struggle with in Islam ?
What I love most about Islam is all the values and principles that it teaches us , including being nice and tolerant ( for example ) to everyone including muslims and non-muslims . What I personnaly struggle with in Islam is informations , the kind you get from Aqida classes . Some of them aren't easy to remember , so you have always to refer to them .

8/ What's the most interesting item in your house related to Islam / Middle Eastern culture , excluding the Quran ?
Tha would probably some pictures / boards with Qurani ayaths .

9/ Do you speak Arabic ? If yes then please say something :
Yes I do . Ana baktalem arabi :)

10/ List all the Prophets you can remember by heart ?
Peace be upon all of them
Mohammed
 Issa
Mussa
Yusuf
Idriss
Ilyass
Yaacob
Ibrahim
Adam
Yunus
Ismail
Haroon
 Dawood
Zakariyaa

So that was it ! I hope you'll like it ! If so , then please go ahead and do it , and tell me so I can read yours !

WR : Hijabi Brides

Salaam !
In you case you don't know I'm a hijabi and so are many girls around the world alhamdulilah . Since your wedding day is the most special , important and for the majority the most waited for , being a hijabi represents a real challenge in front of you for such a day . Do you prefer a mixed or a segragated ceremony ? Should you keep your hijab on your wedding day ? if yes then how are you going to arrange it so as to make it nice but most of all beautiful ?
All these questions will definitely appear by the time you're preparing for your day - that if they didnt show up from now !
Through my hijabi experience ( almost 4 years mash'Allah :D ) , this subject must always occur between me and other hijabi sisters . We are all confused about it . That , led me to do some researches about the entire topic and it wasnt really easy to find satisfying answers .

According to me , and if you're having a normal ( mixed ) ceremony , you must keep on your hijab . I honestly believe that since you've been wearing hijab for many years , which is not only a blessing from Allah (swt) but that has also become a part of your personality and most of all a part of You . There are for sure many ways to stay with your hijab and though look gorgeous , and along with this post you'll find many selected pictures of hijabi brides . Either you like it fancy and orned , or just simple , either you will be wearing the traditional white wedding dress , or a lehnga ( if you're a desi girl ) or any other traditional wedding dress that differences from your culture and background , there must be a beautiful way for you to discover .
Many brides that kept their hijab for their wedding affirm it being the most amazing choice they've ever made , and that they were flattered by the way they looked . And with the internet nowadays , you only need to type a couple of keywords in a searching engine to find many results , tips and experiences shared by previous hijabi brides .

As for me , I'm insh'Allah planing to have a segragated wedding so as to be able to remove my hijab ( of course it will be only infront of females and mahrams , includign the Lucky Guy :D ) , but I'd like also to held a small mixed ceremony which will allow me to share my pictures as a hijabi bride with other people !

And as the sayign goes ; a "picture is worth a thousand words " , I've made a selection of beautiful hijabi brides' ( both with white wedidng dress and desi look ) pictures for you to see !
I hope you'll find them usual insh'Allah ! I also have a selection of blog posts about this same topic , so if you're interested , just contact me ( privatly message or leave a comment ) and I will deliver them to you ! Also , if you're an upcoming hijabi bride then please share with us your own experince and final look !

Ps : Some desi brides assert that they face a problem with having a full coverage ( covering the neck area ) with the dupatta that comes along with the whole outfit , below are some good examples you can benefit from :)
